Steph Mercado is a DMV-based singer-songwriter and performer blending pop, soul, R&B and Latin influences with expressive vocals and emotionally direct storytelling. A bilingual English-Spanish vocalist, Steph writes from personal experience, exploring relationships, identity, grief, hope, joy, healing and the contradictions of being human.
Her performance background spans choral music, a cappella, live bands and solo work. After fronting her own band and performing throughout the DMV at venues including Songbyrd Music House, Pearl Street Warehouse, Jammin’ Java and The Pocket, Steph returned to her solo work with a renewed emphasis on the voice at the center of the performance.
Her recent music ranges from the warm, playful pop-soul of “Easy” to the piano-driven emotional intensity of “Human in Disguise,” with new material continuing toward R&B, soul and Latin influences. Her live performances pair original music with a dynamic, expressive vocal style and an increasingly movement-driven approach to the stage.
Now expanding her work as a recording artist, vocalist and songwriter, Steph is developing new releases, live performances and visual projects while building connections with audiences across the DMV and beyond.
